The Bess Streeter Aldrich Memorial Highway is the part of Highway 34 that starts at the intersection of Highway 34 and Highway 1 (two miles south of Elmwood) and goes west to the county line west of Eagle. It was named after Elmwood’s author Bess Streeter Aldrich and received this designation after E-M FBLA proposed the name change to the Nebraska Department of Roads.
