Members

The Visitors Advisory Committee consists of five members, including two representatives from the lodging industry (hotel/motel). Members are appointed by the County Board of Commissioners and serve four-year terms.

Overview

The purpose of the committee is to advise the County Board of Commissioners in the administration of the County Visitor Promotion Fund and the County Visitor Improvement Fund. These funds are comprised of revenues generated from lodging taxes levied by the County pursuant to the Nebraska Visitors Development Act.

The Visitor Promotion Fund is dedicated to promoting, encouraging, and attracting visitors to the County and supporting the use of local travel and tourism facilities. The Visitor Improvement Fund is intended to enhance existing visitor attractions or support the development of new visitor attractions within the County and to complement the objectives of the Visitor Promotion Fund.
