As the play begins, an old hobo named Poppy is telling a tall tale. It is the early 1890’s and roving story tellers like Poppy are the voices of the prairie. “The Voice of the Prairie celebrates a time of radio, when, before there were networks, sponsors and regulating agencies, a broadcaster could be a one-man road-show radio station. It was an age of ambition and innocence.” The New York Times. This play contains mild adult themes. We suggest PG 13.
