Strategic Air Command & Aerospace Museum Offers a Patriot Day
Program and Free Lunch Honoring the Heroes of Sept. 11, 2001
ASHLAND, NE – (Aug. 16, 2016) – The Strategic Air Command & Aerospace Museum honors the fallen
victims of the Sept. 11, 2001 attacks and the heroes who have fought our nation’s battles throughout the
years with a special remembrance program and lunch event.
The Patriot Day Remembrance program and lunch will be held Friday, Sept. 11, 2016, from 12:30 p.m. –
2:00 p.m. at the Museum and will feature the hero’s of emergency response during disaster, emergency
situations and security threats.
The program presenters and topics includes “Emergency Preparedness” by Loren Knauss, American Red
Cross, “State Patrol Emergency Responsiveness” by Trooper Charlie Cook and “Law & Order: The
National Guard’s Role” by Lt. Col. Craig Strong.
The public is invited to attend the Remembrance program but RSVP is required by Sept. 8, 2016. All
military cardholders (retired, active, and veterans) and first responders in uniform are invited to attend
for free. Members may register for free and general admission of $12.00 per adult applies to nonmember

About the Strategic Air Command & Aerospace Museum – Located between Lincoln and Omaha near Interstate 80, utilizes
over 300,000 square feet of exhibit, education, and event space. Organized in 1959, the original mission of the museum was to
commemorate the contributions of the Strategic Air Command, which until 1992 was headquartered at Offutt Air Force Base.
The museum moved to its current location in 1998 upon completion of a new indoor facility. The museum houses an
impressive collection of military aircraft and space artifacts, many of which have been restored in the museum’s on-site
restoration facility. To better serve the community, the museum offers STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and
Mathematics) education opportunities for students, teachers, families, and adult learners. Traveling exhibits, permanent
exhibits, and a variety of special events provide additional unique experiences for the museum’s members and guests
